Therapy Based in Science,
Personalized for You.
What can I expect in therapy?
Professional therapy can help you build confidence to live a more peaceful, enjoyable, and fulfilling life.
In general, psychotherapy is a process where you gain deeper understanding about yourself and gain tools and strategies to help you more effectively face life’s challenges. The process unfolds through discussions with your therapist in sessions and through practice exercises both during and between therapy appointments.
The most effective therapy is a collaborative effort between you and your therapist. There are two motivated experts involved. You participate as the expert in your own lived experiences, your beliefs and values, your history, your background and culture, and your feelings—and ultimately, you are person who takes the work you do in therapy and translates it into your life in a meaningful way. Your therapist uses their education, training, and clinical skills to guide you in this process of discovery and change over time. Together, you and your therapist co-create the context you need to walk the path toward your specific goals.
Therapy can help you feel better, but what changes?
Gain deeper awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and patterns
Develop new perspectives about yourself and others
Uncover your strengths and blind spots
Learn specific skills to manage difficult situations
Work through difficult feelings about the past and fears about the future
Learn how to develop and maintain healthier habits

Self Discovery
Effective therapy helps you develop a richer, deeper understanding about yourself. How have your experiences (e.g., your culture, relationships, events in your life) influenced you? Taught you to communicate? Guided your decisions? Shaped your values? Influenced your sense of who you are and what you need now? Getting to the heart of these questions can be difficult and takes time, but awakens awareness about what you need to do to live a satisfying life.

Learn Skills
Evidence-based therapies empower you with tools and strategies to face life’s challenges, help you manage difficult feelings, develop more balanced perspectives, and transform ineffective patterns into behaviors that are more effective for you. You may gain such skills as learning how to question automatic ways of thinking, learning how to work with (rather than against) your emotions, and learning new ways of communicating that improve your relationships.
